Signature Series HO Kits—

These kits were developed by us as the “New Generation Red Ball” Signature Series

They continue to be manufactured by us as  “Prototype Specific Signature Series” since the sale of the Heritage Red Ball line. Injection molded styrene and etched brass are employed in their construction. Typical hand tools are required for assembly. Kits are undecorated, less trucks and couplers. Homemade by WVa  3 ft gauge road

ran into 1940s hauling coal from the mountains. Suited to shortline or nar-

row gauge  use. 2 car kit includes link

& pin cplrs  or accepts KD dg boxes. Inj molded tan styrene body,prototype metal parts are brass. Two construction options: on metal Easy or superdetail. Easy can later be upgraded.

#772-4461 Manns Creek Log Buggy  These home made cars were typical of eastern log buggies. (Mc Buggies even had home made arch bar trucks). Suited for narrow or standard ga

railroad. All steel parts are made in brass. The “wooden” beams are one piece molded in tan styrene.  3 car kit has L& P couplers, accepts draft gear boxes.  Brass parts available sep for scratchbuilders

COACH  double etched brass sides, doors and ends. Metal stairwell & formed roof. Styrene floor, underbody & vents. Stamped steel turtle “round” roof –these were converted boxcars. Atterbury car. Easily converted to PA emergency coach by squaringing door window

WWII. THE home made prototype for mass produced kitchen cars.It is a converted turtle “round” roof boxcar. PRR made 3 other very similar kitchens.

CONVERTED WWII TROOP SLEEPERS

Signature Series  OFFERS EACH OF THEUS PROTOTYPE HEADEND CARS MADE WITH UNIQUE DBL ETCHED BRASS SIDES and injection molded  styrene core in HO.

Undecorated kits. No underbody brake sets are included –most retained the 2 AB sets diagrammed in instruction sheet. Original, interesting,  Allied trucks were replaced in mid 50s when outlawed for interchange. Inside doors are brass, outside doors are styrene.Brass sides w/inside doors for most may be also purchased to correctly convert Cannonball  oe  Walthers HO cars and MincroTrains ®  N cars.

#772-4002 REA EXPRESS REEFER

(also KCS)  This Chicago Car conversion includes brass ends, ladders, roofwalk and injection molded ice hatches. After REA breakup these ran for Kraft, SLC  and several other leasors. Sides not avail.

#772-4003 REA and NYC Express

Boxcar.  This inside door car was found coast to coast –there were hundreds in the two fleets. NYC were both  gray and 2T gray. REA were green. N & HO Sides Avail

#772-4004 New Haven Express Boxcar. This inside door car wore a

mukltitude of paint schemes. 2 panel riveted steel door style N &HO sides avail.

#772-4005  C&O – B&O Express Boxcar.  Inside six ft door car was common on C&O and some later shuffled to B&O., Seen today in MofW service

Boxcar. Inside 7 ft doors allowed loading through cars onto adjacent tracks. Found in most B&O passenger  trains because there were so many in the class. HO&N sides avail

in the inside door car group. Some were

The Rock had a huge fleet of these outside door cars! They were as

impressive in silver as they were when hidden in dark green paint.

The 2 door car with drip spouting was

#772-4105 B&M  RPO Car

 RPO-In 1949-It happened only on the B&M it often ran elsewhere (one of the 3 was wrecked on the ACL)  –and the other two were reconverted to express cars later.  HO Sides avail

#772-4106 Alaska RR 50’ Boxcar

This huge fleet  ran in lower 48 interchange.Converted by Chicago Car with a special end correctly supplied in brass. Proto photos in the Instructions so you can do them right. Decal info in kit.

#772-4107 Alaska RR Hi Cube Boxcar. Yes, they welded an old  boxcar’s top to another’s bottom way up North to make these top heavy signature cars..and the doors and ends too. And yes, they

ran to lower 48 interchange via carferry. No welding reqd in kit due to our  brass parts.

Decal info in kit. The leftover bottoms ran one way, unrostered, loaded,  to scrap yard. Use CCS bodies for this wild idea!

#772-4108 D&RGW Dynamometer

This special car ran behind the Krauss Maffei  hydraulics during testing on the

D&RGW.  Our model looks great but we won’t advertise it as a “working” dynamometer car.  Decal info in kit.
